Speed zones, tilt, off-part motion
The last group of planning decisions is about how the machine moves, not where the material goes. Direction (one way or back and forth), the moves between courses, the speeds along a course, how the axes share the work, and the tilt of the head. None of them changes the ply; all of them change the cycle time, and speed and tilt change quality at the course ends and on curved areas.
Predict · at 2:16 in the video
A one-metre course. Cruise at thirty metres a minute. The head accelerates at half a metre per second squared. How much of the course is at full speed?
Only half. Getting up to half a metre a second at that acceleration takes a quarter of a metre. Slowing down takes another quarter.

Simulations in this lesson are our own. Where the numbers are invented to show a mechanism, the video says so on screen.
