LESSON 7.6 · 1:46 · CHAPTER 7 · WARP AND DESIGN
Simulation predicts the warp
A validated thermal-mechanical simulation predicts the warp well enough to bend the CAD the other way before printing.
Predict · at 0:31 in the video
The model predicts ten millimetres of end lift, and it's validated to within seven percent. How big is the error after you pre-compensate?
Under 0.7 millimetres. Seven percent of ten. Small enough for the machining allowance to swallow.

About the numbers
Simulations in this lesson are our own. Where a number rests on an assumption or a single source, the video marks it with an asterisk and says where it comes from.
