LESSON 7.2 · 1:56 · CHAPTER 7 · WARP AND DESIGN
The wrong direction
Fibres fix the shrinkage along the bead only; across layers the part shrinks like neat polymer.
Predict · at 0:38 in the video
A one metre carbon fibre ABS block cools 80 degrees. How much does it shrink along the beads, at 25, and in height, at 80?
Two millimetres along the beads. 6.4 in height. One metre times 80 degrees times 25 millionths is two.

About the numbers
Simulations in this lesson are our own. Where a number rests on an assumption or a single source, the video marks it with an asterisk and says where it comes from.
