LESSON 6.5 · 1:56 · CHAPTER 6 · CHOOSING AND HANDLING A MATERIAL
Dry the pellets, size the hopper
Pellets must sit at temperature for hours, so the dryer has to hold hours of throughput, and the setpoint climbs with the polymer.
Predict · at 0:31 in the video
Carbon fibre PC is dried four hours at 120 degrees, and printed at 60 kilograms an hour. How much must the dryer hold?
At least 240 kilograms. Four hours times 60 kilograms an hour. Plus margin.

About the numbers
Simulations in this lesson are our own. Where a number rests on an assumption or a single source, the video marks it with an asterisk and says where it comes from.
