LESSON 6.3 · 2:01 · CHAPTER 6 · CHOOSING AND HANDLING A MATERIAL
Moulded datasheet, printed reality
Many sheets quote injection-moulded bars; a printed part delivers 0.3 to 0.9 of that along the bead and 0.15 to 0.4 across the layers.
Predict · at 0:31 in the video
A sheet quotes 123 megapascals for a 30 percent carbon fibre PETG. Moulded. What should a printed tool be designed on, along the bead and across?
Bracket it. Along the bead, 0.3 to 0.9 of the moulded number: 37 to 111. Across the layers, 0.15 to 0.4: 18 to 49.

About the numbers
Simulations in this lesson are our own. Where a number rests on an assumption or a single source, the video marks it with an asterisk and says where it comes from.
