Every layer has a deadline
Too short a layer time and the wall slumps; too long and the layers don't bond. In between is a window, set by how the surface cools.

A carbon fibre polycarbonate surface cools as shown. It bonds well between 125 and 165 degrees. Which layer times keep it in that window?
Between about 100 and 165 seconds. The study that measured it found the best result at 130 seconds. At 250 seconds, the surface was down near 89 degrees, and the strength across the layers had more than halved.
