Fibres pile up at the pole
The same number of bands crosses every circle of the dome, each taking width w/cos α, so thickness goes as 1/(R cos α) = 1/(c√(Y²−1)): it climbs steeply toward the turnaround. Real band width rounds the spike off about a band width out.

Equator radius 200 millimetres, turnaround at 20. How much thicker is the wall at twice the turnaround radius than at the equator?
About 5.7 times. In units of the turnaround radius, R cos alpha is the square root of Y squared minus one. At the equator Y is 10: root 99.
