The isotensoid
For geodesic netting winding there is one dome shape where every fibre carries the same load: the isotensoid. It is built from the equator inward with tan²α = 2 − R₂/R₁, and it is flatter than a hemisphere (about 0.6 radii deep for an opening of a fifth of the radius).

For geodesic winding, with the fibres carrying everything, is the ideal dome flatter or rounder than a hemisphere?
Flatter. With a polar opening a fifth of the radius, the isotensoid is about 0.6 of the radius deep. A hemisphere is a full radius.
